Meet Bruiser: Hi! My dad suffers from complications inflicted from the Korean war. He loves me because I give him joy, comfort and taking care of me gives him something to look forward to every day!
Meet Charley: My owner and I had to be out of the house immediately! A Hannah member was willing to foster me until my mom can take me back in September. Thank goodness there are so many nice people out there!
Meet Lily: My dad, an ex-Marine, experiences many repercussions from his service. I am his constant companion and we help each other every day.
Meet Sophie: I go everywhere with my dad! He used to be a Marine who was injured in combat. He has one leg and multiple medical problems now but that doesn’t stop him. He met Jade, who works at Hannah’s Helping Hands, at a Stand Down event and she helped us come together.
Meet Oscar: I was given up by a family for personal reasons, but not forgotten. I went to Hannah The Pet Society. For several months the staff worked with me to become the best canine companion I could be.
Now I live with the boys and staff from the Cornelius-based Albertina Kerr boys home as their forever-Pet. Everyone loves my big, brown eyes and the hugs and kisses I give!
Hannah’s Helping Hands has a partnership with Albertina Kerr and places wonderful Pets into group homes with boys coping with mental disabilities.
Pets not only provide companionship but help people cope with depression, anxiety and stresses.
